Hi, I'm Miguel Pais and I'm a currently on my last year of a BsC degree at what they call Information Systems and Computer Engineering (it's Computer Science basically) at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, Portugal and planning to move to the Masters Degree. I'm a long time hobbyist in the area of computers, with particular interest in Algorithms, but also with knowledge in Web Development with Ruby on Rails.

Regularly you can catch me on several online programming competitions such as the Single Round Matches of TopCoder.com. I also intensively use the Usaco gate for learning new algorithmic concepts. Locally I represented my university at the national stage of the 2009 edition of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest.

On the web I launched my website in 2007 and in 2009 I was the co-founder of Twivie.com a movie-rating Twitter App.

Since 2007 untill 2009, I was the coordinator of Revista Programar, a still kicking and successful portuguese project that aims to publish at each two months a completely free magazine with the best about programming. I joined it since the first edition, and was coordinator from edition 9 to 18.

But I'm not just work, and I like to have fun too. I enjoy to swim, one of my favorite sports, and I'm a huge fun of Electronic Dance Music, particularly Trance and House.

This is my blog and webpage where you can know more about me and my opinions.
